FAQ ABOUT FITNESS
We have put together a list some of the most frequently asked questions about fitness and gyms.
- WHY DO I NEED A PERSONAL TRAINER?
There are lots of reasons to get a personal trainer. These days, personal trainers are no longer the sole preserve of the rich and famous and a gym should be able to help you find one.
Maybe you would simply like someone to motivate you. Training on your own can be a lonely business and a lot of people do give up after trying on their own. A personal trainer can give you that helping hand you need to stay focused. On top of that, of course they can advise you on the best way to exercise and prevent you from getting injured.
- HOW OFTEN SHOULD I WORK OUT AT THE GYM?
This is a very frequently asked question, which comes up repeatedly.
Although there is no one set answer – a lot depends on you and your fitness levels – but we feel that three times a week should be adequate for any fitness regime. If you want to do more, that is up to you, but it is important not to overdo it and cause yourself an injury, or simply tire yourself too much.
- HOW LONG WILL MY SESSION WITH A PERSONAL TRAINER LAST FOR?
Typically, a training session with a personal trainer takes about an hour.
They will start you off with a gentle warm up, then start the session in earnest. The focus of the session will be down to you, you may focus on muscle building, or cardiovascular exercises. Toward the end there will be a winding down session, in which you may begin to relax.
- WHAT QUESTIONS WILL MY PERSONAL TRAINER ASK?
Your personal trainer will ask a few questions about your lifestyle, your goals and aims from exercising. They may ask about your job and other activities as well as details about any medical issues or history which will affect your exercise regime. Your trainer is not there to judge you, but it is important to answer these truthfully for your own well being!
